Alexandria Black Designs
About Alex
From my New York City atelier, I create bespoke jewelry and accessories that merge sustainability with sculptural design. Each piece is an intentional composition of ethically sourced minerals, fine metals, talismanic charms, and historical elements interpreted through a contemporary lens. The result is a collection that honors material integrity while expressing modern refinement.
I take immense pride in the sourcing process, selecting each ornament, gemstone, precious metal, bead, crystal, textile fiber, feather, leather skin, or even a fragment of bark with purpose and precision. The joy is in the search for the extraordinary and in the meticulous process of bringing every detail together. My designs are made for those who seek rarity, meaning, and heirloom-quality accessories with spirit and substance.
Presentation and Thoughtful Details
Smaller accessories and jewelry arrive in a keepsake storage satchel created from studio materials and archival textiles chosen to protect your piece from light, heat, and the passage of time. These limited-edition satchels are an art form in themselves, composed from a striking combination of antique Metropolitan Opera programs, technical design drawings, Indian textiles, past-season interior fabrics, and luminous stage lighting gels.
Each satchel is finished with a 14K gold 14/20 or sterling silver paillette, stamped with the Alexandria Black insignia serving as a signature of authenticity and craftsmanship.
A Gift of Fragrance and Storytelling
With every purchase of one hundred fifty dollars or more, I include a seasonal aromatherapy blend made from pure natural flower and plant oils. This sensory detail is intended to heighten your experience and reflect the layered nature of the brand.
Each design also includes a digital Self-Love Tool Kit (SLTK), which offers historical insight, scientific perspective, and the rumored restorative properties of the minerals, metals, and crystals used in your piece. These natural elements have influenced civilizations for centuries and continue to shape our modern world. Minerals alone compose ninety-eight percent of the Earth’s crust and have scientifically recognized effects on the body as we interact with them.
Designed with Intention, Worn with Power
Alexandria Black is more than jewelry. Each creation is a power piece that merges conscious luxury with refined design and heirloom-level craftsmanship. Every piece is conceived and finished by hand in my studio, infused with authenticity and thoughtful intention.
Thank you for exploring my world. I hope you discover a piece that speaks to your spirit or becomes a meaningful gift for someone you cherish.

My Philosophy
In my effort to contribute to environmental well-being, I integrate natural byproducts into my emerging collections and prioritize the use of responsibly sourced legacy materials and museum-grade fragments whenever possible.
Bark: Harvested from the ground without harming trees, each piece of bark, primarily birch, is collected and salvaged during numerous hiking expeditions across the Midwest and Northeast.
feather: Alexandria Black exclusively collaborates with humane suppliers, selecting feathers obtained naturally through molting, ensuring no harm comes to the birds during the harvesting process.
leather: Sourced from a supplier associated with some of the most influential fashion designers globally, the leather used in my designs is a natural byproduct.
metal: The paillette-tags, chains, earwires, and all other metals in Alexandria Black designs are skillfully fashioned from metals verified by the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC). These metals adhere to Kimberley Process standards, guaranteeing ethical working conditions in both the manufacturing facility and vendor facilities.
mineral: Jewels are typically acquired from conflict-free suppliers, varying in size and color. These precious stones are often of the highest quality grading, frequently AAA. Inclusions and blemishes occur naturally and contribute to their inherent beauty.
textile: The luxurious textiles are sourced from top mills worldwide, sometimes as "deadstock." Accumulated over a lifetime, these fabrics, a mix of natural fibers, create a rich synthesis of textures and layered colors.

Why Opt for Alexandria Black Designs?
Alexandria Black reflects a commitment to environmental consciousness and design integrity, blending inspiration from nature with elements of enduring cultural heritage. Many materials I use originate as natural byproducts or dormant design resources that are reinterpreted into original compositions.
All components and artifacts are sourced through conflict-free vendors, geologists, and trusted suppliers who share my ethical standards. Select antiquities and lost-wax-cast beads are created in partnership with Indigenous communities, nomadic tribes, and refugee artists across the world, supporting traditional craftsmanship and preserving cultural artistry.
Each design unites traditional and modern influences to form new heirlooms works that balance industrial precision with primal beauty and sculptural form. Every element is chosen responsibly, from fair-trade materials to biodegradable tissue paper and labels made from recycled fibers. Even my business cards are produced from reclaimed cotton textiles, extending the brand’s commitment to mindful production in every detail.
Smaller accessory and jewelry items are thoughtfully enclosed within an Alexandria Black keepsake storage satchel, skillfully crafted from entirely repurposed materials, including the thread. This distinct pouch functions as a protective shield, ensuring your design remains safeguarded from potential damage caused by heat and light during periods of non-use.
The current satchel is a blend of antique Metropolitan Opera programs or technical design drawings, vintage Indian saris, repurposed past-season interior design fabric swatches, and vibrant transparent lighting gels.
As a lover of fragrance and natural oils from flowers and plants, I take pleasure in sharing my seasonal aromatherapy blend with you as a special gift for every package totaling $100 or more.
Each design is accompanied by a digital file containing historical insights, scientific details, and rumored restorative healing properties inherent in the precious metals, gems, crystals, and beads on your piece.
Minerals, composing ninety-eight percent of the Earth's crust, have scientifically proven effects on our bodies as we interact with them. Alexandria Black designs are power pieces, offering affordable luxury accessories and heirloom jewelry with versatile styling.
Every design purchased will feature an engraved sterling silver 925 or 14K gold 14/20 filled paillette, providing further authentication of its quality and originality.
Drawing inspiration from my body of work and my appreciation for art history, ethnology, color, textiles, fashion, couture, antiquities, design, travel, architecture, and music, Alexandria Black designs are also influenced by the ethos of nature and global events.
This journey of research, both in my work and in life, is ongoing. As a socially conscious individual, I deeply care for others and the environment. I work with a commitment to cleanliness, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. The Alexandria Black packaging is created through repurposing and reusing, contributing to waste reduction. Each design is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, love, and healing intentions.

My Story
About the Designer
A native New Yorker, my early days were filled with the joy of raising horses and exploring the serene beach shores and expansive woodlands of upstate New York and Michigan. Indoors, I spent countless hours immersed in design and sewing, self-taught and drawn to the tactile world of textiles. I favored cast-off upholstery fabrics and leather remnants sourced from the local Herman Miller furniture factory in Michigan, fascinated by the potential of overlooked materials transformed through vision and care.
Throughout my youth, I collected gemstones and crystals, captivated by their natural geometry and the science and symbolism behind their beauty. Their energetic qualities and rumored healing properties inspired a lifelong connection to the natural world.
My formal studies in fine art, color, and art history at Aquinas College and Kendall School of Art & Design deepened that passion. Sculpting with found materials became my preferred medium, connecting art, form, and sustainability.
After college, I returned to New York, refining my aesthetic while working across the fashion and beauty industries. My diverse experience included jewelry, accessories, interior and costume design, public relations, and styling for editorials, photo shoots, and film.
As a Creative Director in the beauty world, including my tenure at Temptu, I embraced experimentation and innovation developing the original temporary Metallix (metallic) body art and other forward-thinking concepts. Later, as a publicist with an exclusive New York agency, I produced and coordinated runway shows and special events for distinguished clients such as Chanel, Cynthia Rowley, HBO, and editorial publications including W, Harper’s Bazaar, Time Out, Cosmopolitan, Vogue Girl, and Teen People.
My exploration of interior design led to the reinterpretation and restoration of Cedarmere, the William Cullen Bryant House Museum, and collaborations on several Long Island Gold Coast estates.
Following the launch of Alexandria Black (formerly bincbodybaubles), I began showcasing my work exclusively in Manhattan’s vibrant pop-up market scene. I was honored to be a featured designer at The Market NYC in Soho one of the first platforms to champion independent designers, and later presented my collections at trunk shows for the legendary Henri Bendel Fifth Avenue flagship store.
I remain grateful to live and create in one of the world’s most inspiring cities. For press and wholesale inquiries, please reach out for additional details.
