PIPER No. 009
The Sultan's Garden.
The piper is not merely worn it’s composed. A symphonic garment in three movements: overskirt, cape, and strapless overdress. Designed to shift with you, your rhythm, your ritual, your reinvention. This metamorphic silhouette is part sculpture, part story..
A mythic escape through storytelling textiles, Piper No. 009 evokes a secret court beneath silken canopy, a whisper of empire, a hush of hibiscus. One side features a rare scene rendered in tapestry figures in repose, incense curling through vines of celadon and crimson, stories told in gesture. The other side balances the visual tale with a delicate red and cream floral textile that mimics ancient paper lanterns or embroidered medallions, softening the power of the image with ornamental grace.
Adjustable and reversible, this over-skirt/cape transforms with the mood: cinematic, ceremonial, or sweetly subversive. Wear the storyteller forward for drama or reverse to let the bloom speak gently. Finished with long black grosgrain ties, a hoodie-style pocket, and an elasticated waistband, it’s equally wearable over dresses, jeans, or as a cape. Each side captures a different tempo, but both carry the legacy of Alexandria Black’s reverence for craft, culture, and wearable myth.
